On February 13th FDI Magazine announced its yearly publication "Cities and Regions of the Future". Every two years fDi Magazine draws up a list of the 25 European cities and regions of the future after collecting independent data on 223 cities and 142 regions in Europe. The judging criteria are economic potential, cost effectiveness, human resources, quality of life, infrastructure, business friendliness and FDI promotion strategy.

Just like the past couple of years, Antwerp did well in the rankings. The city of Antwerp took the 7th place in the overall ranking of small cities, underlining its overall attractiveness for foreign direct investment.
