Ineos to build ethylene tank terminal in Antwerp

Ineos Oxide will build an ethylene tank terminal with an annual capacity of 1 million tons in Zwijndrecht, in the Antwerp port area. The project is supposed to be operational as from 2012. According to Ineos Oxide’s CEO Hans Casier the investment will drastically change Europe’s ethylene market and even create a gateway to the world market.

The terminal will be directly connected with Ineos’ other Belgian sites in Feluy and Lillo. So-called ARG ethylene pipelines will connect the new terminal with sites in Germany as well. A more efficient management of Ineos’ ethylene needs will be the outcome of the new tank terminal project.
